(Adair Co) Compensation Board representative Jayne Lents presented the FY26 Compensation Board Recommendations to the Adair County Board of Supervisors Wednesday morning.
Lents said the Compensation Board recommended a five percent salary increase for the Board of Supervisors, Auditor, Recorder, Treasurer, Attorney and Sheriff. The Compensation board also recommended that if they County Attorney goes to full time that she receive a $12,000 adjustment.
Meanwhile, County Attorney Melissa Larson presented a resolution to the board to move her position to full time. Larson requested a $10,000 adjustment, rather than $12,000.
The Supervisors approved the resolution for a full time County Attorney with a $10,000 increase starting July 1st.
Melissa Larson also noted that she had seven applicants for the paralegal and legal assistant positions. She said she would like to set the starting wage at $23 per hour for the legal assistant and $27 per hour for the paralegal.
The Supervisors also approved the following items:
-ISAC Wellness Agreement
-Signing the Tenex Election Equipment Agreement
-An agreement with Richland Township for a FEMA project
-The Interim County Engineer sharing agreement with Adams County
-A resolution for the W12 Harrison box culvert project – low bid was Gus Construction at $195,790
-A resolution for the IN6 Summerset bridge replacement project – low bid was Murphy Heavy Contracting at $322,821
