(Des Moines) Iowa’s new lieutenant governor is a familiar name at the State Capitol. Governor Kim Reynolds announced that Chris Cournoyer would be filling the post yesterday, saying she has the “character, judgment, and ability” to take over her job if needed. Reynolds also noted her experience will pay dividends on various committees in the legislature. When she was selected, Cournoyer was serving her second term in the state senate. She is taking over for Adam Gregg, who left the post to lead the Iowa Bankers Association.
