(Des Moines) Iowa’s secretary of state is asking for changes to the state’s election laws. Paul Pate mentioned during an interview his intention to request lawmakers help streamline the process for recounts and keep track of voter rolls. One of the measures he hopes to get through includes verifying voter citizenship through other state agencies and changing the processing of voter registration forms. Pate noted the 2024 election cycle went smoothly, but there are areas to improve on, so any changes to the election process won’t be significant.
