(Harlan) Shelby County Emergency Management is announcing a significant gas leak between 4th, Market, and Hill in Harlan.
There is a mandatory evacuation between 3rd Street to 12th Street and Court and Cyclone.
Please evaluate to a safe location or go to the Vets Auditorium until further notice.
Before residents return to their homes, law enforcement and the Fire Department will evaluate each house to ensure safety and conduct a gas leak check. For everyone in this affected area, please take your house keys to the Vets Auditorium, and law enforcement will guide you. Please note: Residents cannot return home at this time. Harlan Community School District — Therkildsen Center, Merrill Field, and 12th and Tarkington in-town bus routes will not be operated. There will be no walkers from the school.
