(Clarinda) Clarinda defeated Atlantic 49-28 in a fast-paced boys’ basketball game at Clarinda on Tuesday night.
Both teams struggled to find their rhythm early, with the Cardinals holding a slim 7-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, Ryan Wagoner, Cooper Phillips, and Cooper Baumgart each hit three-pointers, helping to ignite a 21-12 lead at halftime. Kyle Wagoner led the Cardinals with six points in the first half, while Phillips and Baumgart each contributed five. The Cardinals full-court man-to-man press yielded several buckets off turnovers.
