Ernst Expresses Doubt Over Trump Pick

(Simi Valley, CA)  Iowa Senator Joni Ernst is expressing doubt over President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination for defense secretary.  Ernst was speaking in California last week when she said there will “be a very thorough vetting” of Pete Hegseth before he can move forward.  Hegseth is a former Fox News host and military veteran who is facing multiple misconduct allegations.  Ernst, a former member of the Iowa National Guard, noted she is a survivor of sexual assault and mentioned that she believes the process involving Hegseth and his accuser will play out properly.
