(Atlantic) Healthy Cass County is inviting all residents and community members to join the next Healthy Cass Meeting, scheduled for Monday, December 9, at 12:00 PM. This important gathering aims to bring the community together to discuss and address food insecurity, ensuring that everyone in Cass County has access to nutritious food.
The meeting will focus on exploring innovative and collaborative solutions, with topics including:
- Innovative food access initiatives to better serve local neighborhoods.
- Boosting participation in nutrition programs to make them more accessible to all.
- Expanding the Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program through potential policy changes.
- Increasing school-based food pantries, providing critical support for students and families.
- Identifying and addressing gaps in access to culturally preferred foods, ensuring inclusivity and care for all residents.
“This is more than just a meeting,” says Grace McAfee, Cass County Wellness Coordinator. “It’s an opportunity for community members, leaders, and organizations to come together, share ideas, and work towards building a healthier, stronger Cass County.”
