Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7th, when the festivities will begin at 6 PM, filling the heart of Atlantic with twinkling lights, festive music, and holiday cheer.
The Fireworks and Lighted Parade is a cherished tradition for families across Atlantic. Each year, the creativity and sparkle of the light displays make it a must-see event.
This year’s parade promises to deliver a visual extravaganza with dazzlingly decorated floats, holiday themes, and musical performances. As the illuminated floats make their way through downtown, the Christmas spirit will be unmistakable, bringing joy to all who attend.
Adding to the excitement, the parade is also a friendly competition. Floats will compete for awards like Best Overall, Best Holiday Spirit, and the whimsical Twinkle Twinkle award. Winners will be announced before the parade, ensuring anticipation runs high for participants and spectators alike.
The fun doesn’t stop there! Prepare to be amazed by a spectacular fireworks display over the Rock Island Depot at 6 PM. The colorful bursts lighting up the winter sky will make this night truly magical.

Pre-Parade Festivities
Before the parade begins, families can enjoy holiday activities at City Park. From 3 PM to 5:30 PM, Santa will be greeting visitors in his cozy Cabin. 
Santa’s Cabin is sponsored by the Atlantic Rotary and Farmhouse & Flowers, highlighting the community spirit that makes this event so special.
Get Involved in the Parade
Participation in the parade is open to all! To join the fun, download the registration form here. Line-up begins at 5 PM at 6th & Walnut Street, with judging starting at 5:30 PM. While registration isn’t required, it’s encouraged to ensure your float is eligible for awards.
