(Adair Co) Adair County Recorder Kelly Mitchell spoke to the Board of Supervisors about the fee policy and modernization initiative.
Mitchell said the Iowa Recorders and the Iowa Association of Counties are advancing a legislative proposal to update the recording fees. She said Iowa recording fees have not been updated since 1985.
Mitchell said the bottom line is their general fund is going to increase with the increase in the recording fees.
