(Guthrie Center, IA) — The AC/GC Boys Basketball team has had some recent success — 74 wins in the last five seasons and 14-9 a year ago — but this year’s team believes they can take it to the next level — a state tournament level.
The Chargers do return three starters including their leading scorer Senior Jathan South (15.4 ppg, 4.0 rbg, 2.7 apg) who took 141 threes a year ago and hit a solid 32 percent plus did a lot of everything besides scoring and he feels this team has come together
Senior Noah Kading (12.0 ppg, 5.0 ppg, 4.6 apg) was also a 32 percent three point shooter and also has some versatility and he says this year’s team will have more size than the past
6’6″ Senior Mason Wahl averaged less than a point last year but his game has improved in the off season and should be in the middle which will allow Senior Payton Policky (10.5 ppg, 9.6 rbg) to move to a power forward spot and he thinks this club could be a state contender
Junior Joe Crawford (3.3 ppg) shot 30 percent from three point land last year and he is excited about giving the Chargers even more offense this year
AC/GC will open their season tomorrow at West Central Valley
