(Atlantic) The Atlantic Wrestling team continues to prep for the Thursday opener at Earlham. The Trojans are hosting their annual “Meet the Team Night” and intrasquad competition tonight at 5:30 in the High School Wrestling Room.
Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff says the wrestlers are looking forward to the start of the season. All of the body composition tests are complete, and the wrestlers know their starting weight class.
Coach Duff says the meet-the-team night is a mock intrasquad dual held annually to start the first week of competition. The wrestlers weigh in at 4:20 p.m. and have one hour to hydrate, much like a regular dual. Wrestling begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Coach Duff says they want to see the team open up and try moves and holds to allow the coaching staff to help in areas that need improvement.
The Trojans open the season with a dual at Earlham on Thursday, December 5. The broadcast will be on 95.7 F.M., and the game will be live video-streamed on westerniowatoday.com TV and YouTube. Pre-match coverage starts at 6:05 p.m. with Cody Weaver and Tom Robinson on the call.
