Mary Helen Osborn was born on March 15, 1957, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Joseph and Margarett (Lett) Osborn. She was the youngest of four siblings. Mary attended school in Underwood, Iowa, until third grade, when her family moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa. Mary was a member of the Missouri Valley Merrymakers 4-H club and exhibited several times at the Iowa State Fair. She graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1975.
Mary attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs. After school, she worked for Creighton University at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, NE. Following a move to Atlantic, Iowa, she worked for Atlantic State Bank/Wells Fargo for 34 years in the Ag Business department. She enjoyed the relationships she built with all of her customers.
On October 1, 1977, Mary was united in marriage to Randall Frisbie at the Methodist Church in Hazel Dell Township. Together, they welcomed two children: Andrew and Maggie.
In 1989, Mary was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite diminishing mobility over her years, she enjoyed attending musical theater productions, travelling across the country with her family, and helping with an endless number of school projects and activities with her children. Mary loved antique shopping and was incredibly talented at cross-stitching, creating beautiful projects over the years for friends, family, and her home. Delicious cake and a cold Diet Coke brought her great joy.
