(Undated) — Families are paying rent twice with the cost of child care.
The Labor Department says parents are spending up to 15-thousand dollars or more for full-day care per child. That works out to about nine to 16 percent of their yearly pay on day care per child. Government data shows more than 13-million of the nation’s 63-million parents pay for child care.
Parents with infants, those living in large counties and those using a child care center over home care often end up paying more.
