(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors tackled a number of issues at this Tuesday’s meeting. The County Sheriff’s office has a UPS device that needs repairs — there is not an item in the budget for that so Brian Hoffman, the IT Administrator asked the Boards funds to fix the needed equipment
The supervisors approved just over $14,000 to spend on the repairs and will put it as a separate category for now but will discuss further on which department will be responsible for the repairs. The Supervisors also heard from Jotham Arber who proposed adding a second mental health therapist
Arbor already has three applicants for the position and he believes the position can be sustainable over time and even make money for the county
The Supervisors unanimously approved the new position. They also approved to spend insurance on cyber liability, an abatement of taxes for a parcel in Menlo, approved the promotion of Todd Plowman from Maintenance Foreman to Maintenance Superintendent.
