(Neola, IA) — Tri Center has some work to do to replace some key graduating players from last year’s 13-8 team but the Trojans do return three starters this season. Tri Center will lose Alexis Flaharty (13.5 ppg, 8.9 rbg) who had a big presence inside and Taylor Kenkel (6.2 ppg). The returners are all seniors — Isah VanArsdol , Hayden Thomas and Quincey Scheckloth and Head Coach Derek Sonderland hopes they can increase their points this year
Sonderland used Flaharty, Kenkel, VanArsdo, Thomas and Scheckloth for the vast majority of the minutes last year but he feels the Trojans will be deeper this season — he says there some good candidates for the other two starting spots
One big area to improve on this year is three point shooting — Tri Center only shot 26.3 percent on their threes and Sonderland hopes the girls get into the gym and work on their outside shot
Last season, Tri Center finished tied for 2nd with AHSTW in the Western Iowa Conference with Treynor finishing first with only one loss. Sonderland says the WIC will be competitive again but its hard to see where his Trojans will finish
