(Exira) The driver of a dump truck and pup trailer hauling a load of sand escaped with minor injuries in a rollover accident near Exira.
Audubon County Deputy Dave Beane tells KSOM/KS95 news the accident happened at around 4:00 p.m. on Monday on Highway 71, two miles north of Exira. The driver, identified as Dustin Ray Tracy of Creston, refused transport to a medical facility.
Deputy Beane says the northbound dump truck and trailer blew a front left tire, lost control, veered to the left, crossed the centerline, entered the ditch, struck a power pole, and rolled.
The damage to the dump truck and trailer is estimated at $100,000, and the damage to the pole is estimated at $15,000. The crash knocked out power to Exira, Brayton, and Elk Horn.
