(Atlantic) The Atlantic wrestling team concluded the first week of practice on Saturday with their annual “Amazing Turkey Race.” The race began at the high school, where the wrestlers ran through the streets of Atlantic, making stops along the way to compete in mini-competitions. Coach Duff expressed his satisfaction with the first week of practice, noting that the upperclassmen provide strong leadership while the younger athletes bring much energy to the team.
The Trojans return nine lettermen from last year’s squad, and Coach Duff believes that the team’s balance will significantly influence their performance this season.
This week, the team will undergo body composition tests, followed by their annual scrimmage, “Meet-the-Team Night,” on Monday, December 2, at 6:00 p.m. in the Atlantic High School wrestling room.
The Trojans will open the season with a dual meet at Earlham on December 5, starting at 5:30 p.m.
