(Cass Co) One person was injured in a rollover accident in Cass County Saturday morning.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 5:27AM, area first responders were called to the location near 630th (Highway 71) and Lyman Street. Upon arrival, first responders made contact with the operator of the vehicle, identified as Lorna Blackwood, of Emmetsburg, Iowa. Blackwood was operating a 2002 Cadillac Escalade northbound on 630th Street, approaching Lyman Street, when the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder of the roadway. Blackwood attempted to correct this action and in doing so, over-corrected the vehicle. This caused the vehicle to leave the roadway to the east and roll several times before coming to a rest in the ditch.
Blackwood sustained what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital via EMS.
The vehicle sustained disabling, totaling damage and was privately towed.
