(Montgomery Co) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors heard from at least six individuals this morning who are not in favor of removing public comments from the meeting agenda.
Peg Rasmussen was one of those individuals against changing the policy.
Rasmussen added that by changing the policy, “it appears that the board is going to stifle and limit public comments on any issue.”
The item to discuss the public comment policy was removed from the agenda this morning as the board does not have a draft of the policy ready to go at this time.
Supervisor Donna Robinson questioned how they are going to put this issue to rest.
Board Chair Mike Olson asked Robinson if she thought accusations and personal comments are okay?
In other news, the Supervisors accepted the post election audit of the Precinct 6 races for President/Vice President and County Sheriff. The board also changed a couple of meeting dates in December around the holidays. The Board will meet on Monday, December 23rd instead of Tuesday, December 24th; and Monday, December 30th instead of Tuesday, December 31st.
