(Cass Co) The Cass County Library Association presented their annual report and funding request to the Cass County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
Sara Young, Director of the Anita Public Library and President of the CCLA, said each of the libraries in Cass County is unique and they all offer different things. She noted that this year the libraries started a new ‘One County, One Book’ program. In January, each library purchased at least one copy of Bet the Farm by Beth Hoffman and they put the books in a kit and circulated it amongst the libraries.
Young said they decided that since this program went really well, they are going to do it again next year.
The Cass County Library Association also continues to do the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Fundraising includes the Pizza, Puzzle and Pub Nights in the Fall and Spring. They also ask for sponsorships, and it was noted that there are sponsorship opportunities still available.
Following their report, the Cass County Library Association asked the Supervisors for a three percent increase in funding for each library in Fiscal Year ‘26 to help with inflation and rising costs.
