(Neola, IA) — Competition between brothers is always fierce especially when it comes to bragging rights in football. Brant Freeberg, a Senior WR/LB is the youngest of three brothers and he will most certainly have bragging rights over his siblings.
Tri Center has gone from a 3-6 season last year to 10-1 currently and on Thursday they face St. Ansgar in the Class A semifinals, coverage on KSOM. In their three previous seasons, the Trojans won 12 games, if they win the state title this year they will equal that. Freeberg says his teammates have always pointed to 2024 as their year
Freeberg has 17 receptions for 312 yards and 2 TD this year and has 30 tackles on defense with 3.5 TFLs. He is part of a great receiver corps with Juniors Cael Witt and Zach Nelson but the guy who never ceases to amaze is Carter Kunze who Freeberg says is the man
Brant is three years younger than Brecken Freeberg who graduated in 2022 and he is five years younger than Bryson Freeberg who graduated in 2020. Both Brecken and Bryson went to play college football at Morningside College but Brant has no such plans but he has one thing over both of them
Now the challenge is the St. Ansgar who have been to the Dome in six different seasons. Freeberg says the game plan is almost exactly like AC/GC
Freeberg is a 2 time state wrestling qualifier and would like to wrestle in college. Tri Center 10-1 faces St. Ansgar 10-1 on Thursday at the UNI-Dome. Kickoff at 1pm, coverage starts at 12:30 on KSOM.
