(Atlantic, IA) Atlantic Police have arrested a man in connection with the July 15 break-in at Nishna Valley Cycle.
Dajuan Brantley, 36, of Kansas City, KS, faces Theft 1st, Criminal Mischief 1st, and Burglary 3rd charges concerning the break-in at Nishna Valley Cycle on July 15, 2024.
The break-in occurred at approximately 3:34 AM on July 15 when the Cass County Communications Center received an alarm notification from a security company indicating that door and motion sensors had been triggered at Nishna Valley Cycle. Officers arrived on the scene within minutes at 3:35 AM, finding significant damage to the front of the building and several pieces of inventory missing.
Surveillance footage revealed a U-Haul-type vehicle backing into the east side doors, breaking them open. Three individuals entered the building and loaded six dirt bikes into the back of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office provided additional assistance in the investigation. Authorities continue to look for other suspects involved in the theft, and Brantley is expected to face charges in connection with the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
