(Iowa City, IA) — A piece of scientific equipment made at the University of Iowa is still sending back data from the Voyager spacecrafts, 15-Billion miles away, at the edge of the solar system.
Dr. Willam Kurth, University of Iowa. He worked with the team that put the equipment on the two Voyager spacecrafts 47 years ago, when he was a grad student. It sends information about electromagnetic waves back to earth, and is credited with discovering lightning on other planets.
