(Ames, IA) — Rebound time for the Iowa St. football team — the Cyclones got humbled in their first November test by Texas Tech last week 23-22. On Saturday, ISU will look to rebound at Kansas. Cyclones Head Coach Matt Campbell believes that winning teams win in November and he believes his team can do that this year — he says it starts with the mental preparation first
Iowa St. did see some good play from Sophomore Abu Sama who ran 13 times for 74 yards against the Red Raiders. Campbell sees that the best is yet to come for Sama
The Cyclones are getting big time years from Senior wideouts Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel — combined they have 98 of the teams 153 receptions. Combined they have 1,428 receiving yards with a total of 2,060. Part of that has been the injury to TE Ben Brahmer but Campbell is not concerned about the disparity
In the last 4 games, Iowa St. has allowed a touchdown on the opening drive of the game. Campbell is not worried, he says its part of football, he does say that the defense has done a great job of making adjustments after those scores
Saturday Iowa St. faces the Jayhawks who have played in a lot of close games — their 6 losses are by a combined 30 points. Last week they only lost 29-27 to arch rival Kansas St. Thus their record is deceiving and Campbell says they have an experienced team
#17 Iowa St. 7-1 at Kansas 2-6, game time is 2:30 pm, Cyclones Pre Game at 12:30 on KSOM
