(Anita) The CAM Community School District Board of Directors is asking for community support in a significant proposal to enhance educational facilities. A measure that would authorize the district to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds not exceeding $22.5 million is set to be voted on. This funding is aimed at a comprehensive project that includes constructing a new classroom addition to the high school and extensive renovations to the existing building. Additionally, the measure reduces the current two-campus district to one campus in Anita.
The proposed bond initiative outlines several key improvements designed to modernize the high school and enhance student safety and learning environments. Plans would include:
- Construction of a classroom addition to accommodate growing student enrollment and provide modern learning spaces.
- Remodeling and repairing existing high school areas, focusing on aesthetic upgrades and functional improvements.
- Upgrading mechanical, electrical, and fire safety systems to ensure compliance with current safety standards.
- Implementing secure entry points to enhance student safety.
- Investing in technology and security improvements to prepare students for a technologically advanced future.
- Enhancing the school site to provide better outdoor facilities and accessibility.
