(Undated) The end of daylight-saving time goes into effect at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. Iowans will set their clocks back one hour. Under the current daylight-saving period, most Americans lose an hour of sleep on the second Sunday of March and gain an hour on the first Sunday of November. So, we gain an hour in November to accommodate more morning daylight. When we spring forward in March, it adds more daylight in the summer evenings.
