(Atlantic) Atlantic firefighters, Atlantic Police, and Cass EMS responded to a house fire at 8th and Birch Street in Atlantic at 7:22 a.m.. When fire crews arrived, smoke could be seen coming from the home. Atlantic Fire Chief Tom Cappel says faulty wiring from a running window air-conditioning unit caught fire. Cappel says the home sustained minimal fire and smoke damage. Power is shut off at the house until the wiring can be fixed. He says the residents will be displaced for a short period. There are no injuries. Firemen were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
