(Audubon Co) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors said County Assessor Brenda Nelson tendered her resignation last week and they are meeting at 1:00 today with the proper board to begin the process of finding a new Assessor.
In other news, the Supervisors held a discussion with Graydon Schmidt of Schmidt Family Funeral Home regarding general relief requests for funeral assistance. Applicants must meet certain guidelines for funeral assistance, such as income limits, and benefits are sent directly to the funeral director. Audubon County currently does not have a general relief plan in place. The board approved using $1,700 for general relief at this time.
The Supervisors are going to work on a plan to make sure they have a process in the place for general relief in the future.
