(Area) Seven counties in west central and southwest Iowa are under a Fire Weather Watch Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. A Fire Weather Watch means critical fire weather conditions are forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, the counties under the watch include Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, and Page. Winds are forecast out of the south at 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 40 to 50 miles per hour. The relative humidity is forecast as low as 35 percent, causing any developing fires to spread quickly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
