(Audubon) For the second straight year, the Audubon Wheelers captured a district title. They enter the post-season with an undefeated regular-season record. Wheelers Head Coach Sean Birks is proud of his players’ accomplishments this season. He says this is a player-driven culture led by a great group of seniors.
Audubon hosts East Mills, a team they know little about after facing them on numerous occasions in the post-season and a week-zero game a few years ago.
The Wolverines have thrown for 1,993 yards and 748 yards rushing. Caleb Urban has completed 60.3 percent of their passes, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Tailback Sheldon Vandenberg has 53 catches for 647 yards and leads the ground game with 68 carries for 441.
The Wheelers are healthy, with Carson Wessel and Karter Obermeier in the line-up.
Audubon brings a solid running attack to the post-season, having rushed for 2,286 yards, led by Aaron Olsen’s 120 carries for 1001 yards. Carsen Wessel, 90 carries for 662 yards, and Mason Kasperbauer, 51 carries for 444.
The kick-off is at 7:00 p.m.
