(New York, NY) — 2024 will be forever known as the year of Caitlin Clark. The WNBA Rookie of the Year became the first rookie to be on the first team All-WNBA team since 2008. Clark averaged 19.2 points, a WNBA-high 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.33 steals. She recorded a WNBA-record 337 assists and led the league with 122 three-pointers made, the second-highest total in league history. The 6-foot guard also set the WNBA single-game record for assists (19) and recorded the first two triple-doubles by a rookie in league history.
Clark received 302 total votes including 52 first place votes which were the 4th most and was on 66 of 67 ballots that voted. (One wonders who was the 1 person who did not vote for her). She’s the fifth rookie ever to have that honor, joining Candace Parker (the last player to do it in 2008), Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings and Diana Taurasi.
