(Red Oak) Montgomery County Engineer Karen Albert is taking extra steps to keep vehicles off a bridge closure on J Avenue. During her report at Tuesday’s Montgomery County Board of Supervisors meeting, Albert says someone removed the fence and signboards and crossed the bridge comprised by a broken pipe last spring. Albert says, “The bridge is closed for a reason.”
Albert placed concrete barriers in front of the bridge.
Under new business, the supervisors approved the Hungry Canyons Alliance Project Agreement for $58,830.00 for a portion of grade control for the project on G Avenue north of 190th Street. The supervisors approved withdrawing along with Stanton Community Development from the IEDA Destination Iowa Grant and approved the Treasurer’s annual report for $21,308,536.70.
Under the announcement portion of the meeting, Summit Carbon Solutions will hold an open house to learn about safety around CO2 transportation on Wednesday, November 6, at McCalpin Place in Red Oak from noon to 2:00 p.m.
