(Urbandale, IA) Dmytro Prysich, a semi-driver, was convicted of vehicular homicide. The conviction was for the 2023 crash that killed tow truck operator Joshua Villa on I-80 in Urbandale. Prysich, who had a blood alcohol content of 0.196, hit Villa’s tow truck while Villa was recovering a disabled vehicle. Despite the defense arguing other possible distractions, the jury determined intoxicated driving caused the fatal crash. Prysich was acquitted of leaving the scene but faces up to 25 years in prison at sentencing in December.
