(Guthrie Center, IA) — Tensions got heated during the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meeting today as the Board continues to pursue a change to the EMS service in the county. A tax levy is on the November ballot to support EMS service in Guthrie County with a plan to come there after. Supervisor Mike Dickson brought up the issue of EMS coverage in the northern part of the county and that coverage would change. Supervisor Maggie Armstrong pushed back on that
Armstrong says she brought this up at a previous Supervisors meeting but Dickson claims its the first he has heard of it. Dickson and Armstrong continued to debate the issue until Chair J.D. Kuster said nothing has been 100 percent decided
Dickson continued to say that there is no specific plan at which point Supervisor Steve Smith accused Dickson of being uninformed and not going to the county meetings
The Supervisors did approve another meeting at the Guthrie County courthouse in 2 weeks After the meeting, Armstrong will tell KSOM/KS 95 that the EMS plan is still going to be debated and will be finalized after the election for the tax levy in November.
