(Iowa) — Rural Iowa grocery stores can apply for up to 25-thousand dollars in grants to update technology or adopt new services.
As part of the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, the funds can be used for upgrades like self-checkout machines and online services. To qualify, stores must be open for at least three years, be located in communities with populations under 20-thousand, and be able to match 50-percent of the grant with their own funds.
Applications are due by October 25th.
