(Guthrie Center, IA) — On Friday night, AC/GC beat IKM Manning 56-28 and clinched a District title but don’t tell that to Head Coach Cody Matthewson. The Wolves were able to put 4 touchdowns on the board in the first half but the Chargers recovered and shut them out in the second half. Matthewson not happy with the leaky D in the first half; he says they didn’t make too many changes, just simply played better
On offense, the AC/GC three headed rushing monster was on the move. Jathan South ran for 177 yards and Mike Fuller and Joe Crawford each went over 100 yards. Matthewson can’t complain about the offense
With just one game on tap in district play, AC/GC mathematically have clinched the Class A, District #7 title and a playoff spot but Matthewson still sees work to do
This week the top ranked Chargers will host 5-1 Mount Ayr in a non district game
