(Oakland, IA) — Riverside looks for a bounce back after last week’s loss to AC/GC tonight as they visit Southwest Valley.
The Bulldogs fell 50-42 to the Chargers in an exciting game. Jaxon Gordon ran for 200 yards and 2 TD plus returned a kickoff 82 yards and another score but he was denied any yards on a 3rd and 1 and a 4th and 1 with under a minute to go to end their chances at an upset. Riverside Head Coach Darrell Frain is proud of the way his team played
Gordon has now rushed for just over a thousand yards for the season and 16 rushing TD and AC Roller is dominating the defense with 45.5 tackles but the Bulldogs are getting tremendous production from Senior Taven Moore who Frain says is contributing all over the field
Southwest Valley will get back their quarterback tonight — Wyatt Mendenhall had missed the last two weeks because of various injuries and that makes the Timberwolves a more dangerous team says Frain
The Timberwolves had to turn to a freshman to replace Mendenhall and low numbers has forced Head Coach Keegan Longabaugh to shuffle the deck at other positions too like the offensive line
Southwest Valley will be the latest team to try and stop Gordon; Longabaugh says he might have to stack the box a little bit more than usual
3-2 Riverside visits 1-4 Southwest Valley in Class A, District 7
