(Area) Youth Deer Season is underway in Iowa. The season began on September 21st and runs through October 6th.
John Lorenzen, with the DNR office in Lewis, noted that in these earlier seasons you should plan to process the deer as soon as you get it.
Next up is the Archery Deer Season which runs October 1st through January 10th, with the exception that it’s closed during the shotgun season in December.
