(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors signed a proclamation designating this month as National Preparedness Month.
Board Chair Susan Miller read the proclamation which states, “The spring and summer of 2024 has reminded us that no one can predict when or where the next disaster will occur. Pottawattamie County is vulnerable to natural, technological, and man-made hazards and government agencies and disaster organizations cannot bear the sole responsibility to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.”
All residents are urged to become better prepared in the event of a disaster and the Supervisors encourage attendance to the 2024 Pottawattamie County Preparedness Fair to be conducted on September 26 from 5pm – 8pm at the Pottawattamie County Emergency Operations Center.
