(Audubon, IA) — Non District play couldn’t have been more perfect for the Audubon Wheelers football team. Two games and two blowouts against two rivals including a 72-0 win over Exira EHK last Friday. Throw in a district win over Colo Nesco and Audubon looks unstoppable so far.
The Wheelers were able to rest their offensive starters the 2nd half as the game was running clock midway through the 2nd quarter. Senior TB Aaron Olsen had two catches for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns, both of them more catch and run on screens. Olsen added 3 carries for 47 yards and another score.
Head Coach Sean Birks had a chance to see some other guys make plays in the second half. Back up QB Freshman Aiden Kjergaard had 7 carries for 93 yards and 2 TD rushes of 47 and 28 yards. Freshman Mason Kasperbauer had 27 yard TD run. Birks loves his depth and his future when he sees plays like that
Now who is going to step up and beat the Wheelers in 8 Man District 9? Colo Nesco played Audubon last year but the Royals lost in week two 44-8. Collins Maxwell, Baxter, Coon Rapids Bayard, Glidden Ralston will have their shot but Birks is only focused on this week and a trip to Ft. Dodge St. Edmond
The Gaels are 2-1, Wheelers 3-0
