(Lewis) DNR Fisheries Biologist John Lorenzen says Iowa State Park Officials are inviting people to lend a hand by volunteering on September 28.
Lorenzen says the activities are unique to each park and could include litter pickup, staining, painting buildings, removing invasive plants, rebuilding picnic tables, harvesting prairie seeds, and other tasks.
Lorenzen says the participating State Parks in Southwest Iowa are Lake Anita State Park, Springbrook State Park, and Waubonsie State Park on the Lewis and Clark Historic Trail in Fremont County.
Volunteers can find the details at www.iowadnr.gov/volunteer or call the state park.
