(Atlantic) On Wednesday, the Atlantic City Council approved an engineering agreement with Snyder and Associates for $297,750. The deal covers street improvement projects for next spring, summer, and fall, forecast to cost a little over $2.1 million. The project includes 66 street improvement projects, including overlays for the downtown area. This phase does not include work on West 22nd Street.
Dave Sturm of Snyder and Associates says most of the project includes the downtown streets.
Atlantic City Administrator John Lund pointed out that 2025 is the first year of the new cycle of street improvement work in the city’s 10-year capital improvement plan. The total CIP investment for the fiscal years 2025 and 2026 is a little over $3.4 million, which includes work on West 22nd Street. Lund says the investment will not require property tax service.
In other action, the city council approved the second reading of Number 1045, “Vacating the 66′ wide street right-of-way of West Fourth Street. The Council also approved the second pay application of $55,949.17 for the 2024 Sanitary Rehabilitation -UV CIIP lining project.
The City Council will meet again on Monday, September 16. The meeting date changed from September 18 due to the annual Iowa League of Cities Conference.
