(Undated) Dozens of individuals from Houston, Texas, are facing charges in connection with over 200 pharmacy thefts across 31 states, including rural areas of Nebraska and Iowa. The thefts, totaling an estimated 12 million dollars worth of controlled substances, were part of a trend that began in Arkansas and spread to multiple states. The stolen drugs, including hydrocodone, oxycodone, and Xanax, were taken back to Houston and resold. Officials emphasize that these crimes have real victims who depend on their prescription medications and urge the public only to take medications prescribed by a medical professional.
