(Clarke Co) A Des Moines man died following a motorcycle accident in Clarke County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:58 p.m. today (Friday) on I-35. Witnesses stated that 38-year-old James Paul Qualls, driving a 2014 Harley Davidson northbound, passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed. He then took Exit 33 and drove off the roadway. Qualls lost control and the motorcycle overturned, striking a sign post. Qualls was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle rolled down the embankment and came to rest in the ditch.
James Qualls was transported by Clarke County Ambulance to the Clarke County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
