(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW will only have girls compete in cross country this year — but its a strong girls team, ranked #12 in the 1A Pre-Season according to the Iowa Track Coaches.
Two young runners made it to state a year ago and return to lead the team this season — Sophomore Bella Lamp and Junior Ava Paulsen. Head Coach Jackson Renberg sees strong development in each of them this season
Ava’s twin sister Makenna Paulsen will also be a strong contributor; Sophomore Yana Lander brings back experience and Renberg is real excited in what Freshman Emery Brockhoff can accomplish on the track this fall
The Vikings open up their Cross Country season on Tuesday, August 27 with a big meet in Shenandoah.
