(Exira, IA) — Exira EHK Cross Country will be running hard this year as six boys and six girls are out for the team this season.
On the girls side, the Spartans will look at Sophomore Michelle Wilson to lead the team after making it to state last year and finishing in the middle of the pack at 68th place. Head Coach Kevin Brown says Exira EHK is not used to sending runners to state
Exira EHK does have three seniors on the girls side — Gracie Bartz, Ruby VanderWal, and Olivia Dixon to compliment Wilson. On the boys side, Junior Austin Rasmussen just missed going to state a year ago and Brown believes he will be in the starting block in Ft. Dodge this fall
There’s only one senior on the boys side — Tim Reinhart joined up this year. Juniors Carter Wiemann, Ben Baggett, and Fred Harris will push to score for the Spartans. Brown hopes he can keep them all healthy
Exira EHK Cross Country doesn’t open their season until Thursday, September 5 at the Wildcat Classic hosted by West Central Valley.
