(Atlantic) On Thursday, August 15th, 2024, the Atlantic Chamber Ambassadors celebrated the opening of The Moviehouse & Event Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new business is located above Brymons Interiors. Jennifer Miller, the owner of Brymons Interiors & Event Center, purchased the 412 Chestnut building six years ago from the Masons. The Masons previously rented the top levels of the building for meetings, but due to the elevator being out of operation, they found alternative meeting arrangements. When the movie theater left Downtown Atlantic, Jennifer saw the need for a new one and started renovating the space in March of this year with the help of her daughter Cambrie. They cleaned, painted, remodeled, and installed equipment.
The Moviehouse & Event Center will show “current release” or “classic” movies every Saturday night. Jennifer mentioned that as fall and winter approach, they may increase the number of showings and consider adding a matinee. Jennifer looks forward to receiving community feedback and requests to help guide their movie selections. The Moviehouse & Event Center is located at 412 1/2 Chestnut Street in Atlantic.
