(Exira, IA) — The Exira, EHK football team will have some work to do to replace its departed Seniors from last year’s 6-4 team.
Gone is QB Jameson Kilworth, who threw for 1,301 yards and 14 TD plus led the team in rushing with 973 yards and 16 TD. Gone is leading receiver Cash Emgarten who had 42 receptions for 664 yards and 8 scores. Gone is Jackson Radcliff who had 5 QB sacks and 12 tackles for a loss. Head Coach Drew Buckholdt, however, will not talk about who is gone but instead will focus on the new group of Spartans to step up
Kilworth will leave a big hole at QB but its another Kilworth — Junior Josten Kilworth that will given the opportunity to take over the position this year
One big piece returning is Senior Alex Hansen who led Exira EHK in tackles last year with 76 plus had 24 tackles for loss — plus had 578 rushing yards and 11 TD. Buckholdt is looking at competition up front on both sides at the start of practice
Exira EHK will open their season Friday, August 30th, hosting Ar-We-Va in a non district game.
