(Moline, IL) — Former John Deere employees in the midwest might sue the company for alleged wrongful termination. Attorney Megan Bonanni tells WQAD News 8 that Ford and John Deere used the same consulting firm to craft a layoff strategy.
The Michigan firm represented former Ford employees who sued the automaker claiming age discrimination was a factor in layoffs there. And they say their analysis of Deere layoffs shows glaring similarities. Deere has not responded to a request for comment. The company let nearly 300 salaried workers go at the end of July, and nearly 15-hundred production workers across Iowa and Illinois this year.
