(Atlantic, IA) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved multiple things today in their meeting and one of those was approving a bid for a reinforced box culvert project on 620th Street. The bid accepted was a total of $464,492. According to Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken, the project will be south of Atlantic and east of Lewis on 620th Street approximately a quarter mile south of Newport Road. Wolken believes that the project would start relatively soon after accepting the bid.
The supervisors also approved a loan for CADCO of around $90,000. The loan would allow for CADCO to give money to risky businesses. The board of supervisors had previously discussed putting money back into the community and believes this is the best way for that to happen.
The EMS Advisory Council also finished its recommendation for the Cass County EMS vote in November.
The Board of Supervisors want the public to know that the amounts chosen by the EMS Advisory Council are the maximum amounts a county can propose. The county can lower the total if the funding is more than needed. This is the only funding source allowed by the Iowa state legislature.
